Adama Hospital Medical College (AHMC) is one of the 13 new medical schools opened to implement the New Medical Education Initiatives (NMEI) and one of the four hospitals based medical colleges in Ethiopia. The college is affiliated with others (Asella, Bishoftu and Shashamane) Hospitals for clinical attachments/practices.
Currently, the college is training students of medicine, Integrated Emergency Surgery and Obstetrics (IESO), two specialty program (residency program in General Surgery and GYN/OBS), General Master of Public Health and Master of Public Health in Microbiology.
The College is also active in providing one year training of Anesthesia Level IV and two year training for Radiography Level IV. Besides, as part of the teaching and learning activities, the College is envisaged to conduct problem solving researches and provide community services. Also, the College is selected to serve as an in-service training center for eastern Oromiya since 2014.
